treatment options.

Couple therapy / Relationship counselling:

Couples / Relationship Therapy is a form of psychological therapy used to treat relationship distress for both individuals and couples. Couples therapy can assist people who may be experiencing a loss of intimacy and trust, sexual and communication difficulties. It helps to identify each individual's contribution to the difficulties in the relationship as well as the relationship dynamic. Couple therapy highlights the opportunities for realistic change within the relationship.

Family therapy:

Family Therapy is based on family systems theory which understands the family to be a living organism that is more than the sum of its individual members. Family therapy uses systems theory to understand family members in terms of their position or role within the system as a whole. Problems are addressed by changing the way the system works rather then trying to “fix” a troubled family member. Major areas of attention include communication patterns, relationship boundaries, allegiances and relevant multi-generational issues.

Forensic psychiatry:

Forensic Psychiatry represents the interface between psychiatry and the legal system. One of our practitioners provides a resource for criminal and family court assessments and reports.
